The beginning of an arts centre

Originally the University of Aberdeen Anatomy Department reception and admin area.

2014 offered a visit and glimpse at the potential the empty city centre space offered. No idea of a name or how it would work but the first visit was indeed serendipitous as Jim Ewen had been working towards establishing new studios in the city.

Here we see what is now Arkade Gallery.

Now our art gallery

Another view of the gallery and project space prior to any changes.

Main Corridor and now access to our studios

The neglected facility had become a drop off storage area following its use as the site office and worker space for the Marischal College revamp to council HQ.

The space pretty much blew minds at the potential to create something unique and special in and for the city and cultural sector.

Here we see the main corridor.

This is became our project room and has hosted many events, rehearsals, talks and film screenings.

This former labratory was not initially part of the lease but instead followed a few years later. It is now our dedicated Project Space and is currently home to our Scot Gov and ACVO funded Communities and Well Being project 'SNUG'. A collaboration between All In Ideas and Elev8 Arts.

Timber for kitchen area arriving 2015.

Refurb of the kitchen area to create a dining and social space.
